Las Vegas has many amazing things to offer, from a night on the strip to visiting a great coffee shop out on. But with cooler weather outside, now is the perfect time to explore the great outdoors. Today we’ve compiled a list of our favorite botanical gardens to visit during this time of year.

1) Ethel M Botanical Cactus Garden
Located at the Ethel M Chocolates Factory, Ethel M Botanical Cactus Garden is Nevada’s largest cactus garden. The 3-acre garden boasts over 300 species of plants, including cacti and succulents native to the American Southwest. As well as desert trees and shrubs from the Southwestern United States, Australia, and South America. Be sure to check out their website for the next spectacular holiday event.
2) University of Nevada, Reno Extension – Clark County Botanic Gardens
At the University of Nevada, Reno Extension – Clark County Botanic Gardens you’ll find 7 acres of outdoor educational gardens. Here they have living plants for the purpose of scientific research, conservation, display, and education. Meaning, they have over 4,500 plans, many subjects of long-term observational studies. Be sure to stop in for a self-guided tour or call to schedule a guided tours of some of the stunning plant life they have to offer.
3) Botanical Garden at the Springs Preserve
Commonly known as the “birthplace of Las Vegas,” Botanical Garden at the Springs Preserve is the perfect stop for exploring. The 180-acre cultural institution is designed to commemorate Las Vegas’ history. The preserve is listed as the original source of water for Native Americans and has since been turned into a stunningly beautiful preserve to protect the cultural, natural and water resources here.
4) Acacia Demonstration Gardens
Acacia Demonstration Gardens is a collaboration between the City of Henderson, Conservation District of Southern Nevada as well as several other local organizations. Here you’ll find a wealth of landscaping examples that are all water efficient for the dry desert climate. Be sure to head over to their website in the spring and fall to see the workshops they have to offer.
5) Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
Each season, the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens transforms the 14,000-square-foot space into a showcase of stunning sights, sounds, scents, and colors. All seasons are featured, along with a special display for Lunar New Year. Meaning this is a great place to visit several times throughout the year.
